Mumbai/IBNS: India's celebrity couple Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma became proud parents for the second time giving birth to their son on February 15.

The announcement was made by the couple on Tuesday.

Though they never shared any update about the pregnancy before, it was speculated that Anushka, a leading Bollywood actress, is about to be a mother for the second time.

On Tuesday, Anushka and her cricketer husband Virat Kohli posted on social media, "With abundant happiness and our hearts full of love, we are pleased to inform everyone that on 15th February, we welcomed our baby boy Akaay and Vamika’s little brother into this world!

"We seek your blessings and good wishes in this beautiful time in our lives. We request you to kindly respect our privacy at this time."

What is the meaning of Akaay?

Since the time they named their son as 'Akaay', netizens have been curious about the meaning of the name.

Though it has various interpretations in different languages, Akaay, as per internet, means "immortal" or "something that doesn't decay" in Sanskrit.

In Hindi, the name is believed to be derived from the word 'kaya'. Akaay means "beyond body" in Hindi.

In Turkish meaning, Akaay is "shining Moon".
