Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3: I was nervous to dance with Madhuri Dixit, says Vidya Balan
Bollywood actress Vidya Balan reprises the popular role of Manjulika in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, the third installment of the audience's fond horror-comedy franchise. In an interaction with journalists during the Kolkata leg of the film's promotion, Vidya talks about dancing with icon Madhuri Dixit, her decision to skip Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and more.. IBNS-TWF correspondent Souvik Ghosh reports
Q. How was the experience of dancing with Madhuri Dixit?
A. It was a great experience. I had a great opportunity to dance with Madhuri ma'am both onscreen and offscreen (promotional event). It was fun.
Q. What were your initial feelings when you were asked to dance alongside Madhuri Dixit?
A. I was obviously a bit nervous because she is an ace dancer. I was wondering how to pull it off. But I worked hard on my own way. She (Madhuri Dixit) was very sweet. The song and its energy inspired me to pull it off.
Q. How was your working experience with Kartik Aaryan?
A. Kartik is a very hardworking actor. He works hard on every aspect of a film. From the time I have been on the film, I have seen Kartik involved in all areas of the project including marketing and promotions. He has knowledge, interest and as well as keen to work hard on all aspects of a film. So it has been a wonderful experience and very easy. Both of us bonded right from the start of the shooting.

Q. Did you reject Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 script? If yes, why?
A. Yes because I was scared of losing the love which I earned with Bhool Bhulaiyaa. But when I watched the second installment, I loved it. So Bhushan Kumar asked me to work in the third installment. I agreed (laughs).

Q. You have a deep connection with Kolkata through your films and acting career. What was your reaction to the brutal rape-murder of a junior doctor at a state-run hospital in the city?
A. I always feel Kolkata and West Bengal have a huge respect for women in a true sense. I was shocked to hear the news like everyone else. I couldn't believe such a heinous crime could have occurred in this land. How can such an incident happen in the land of goddesses? I am not able to comprehend.
