Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has made a startling revelation claiming his wife, actress Alia Bhatt, was unaware of music legend Kishore Kumar.

Ranbir was speaking at the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.

"The first time when I met Alia, she asked me 'Who is Kishore Kumar?'," said Ranbir leaving the audience surprised. One in the audience also said, "Are you serious?"

The actor then added, "It's just the circle of life. It's like people are forgotten and then the newer artistes come. I think it's very important that we remember our roots."

Among several netizens, one posted, "He was 20 and She was 9. Pedophilia chal rha tha #RanbirKapoor ka and somehow they were discussing #KishoreKumar saab #AliaBhatt should zip her husband's mouth if she really wants that #AllIndiaBakchod(AIB) video of hers to still work He threw her under the bus lol."

One user on Reddit wrote, "Both should just stop talking about each other in interviews at this point it's for their betterment."

Another said, "Lipstick revenge taken. What is level of Alia? She doesn’t know President of India n Kishore Kumar."

The netizens have referred to Alia's past revelation where she had claimed Ranbir asks her to "wipe out" lipstick as he loves the "natural colour" of her lips.

"Because one thing my husband (when he wasn't my husband when he was my boyfriend as well) says when we used to go out at night, he used to say 'Wipe that (lipstick) off. Wipe that off'. Because he loves the natural colour of my lips," Alia had said online leaving a section of netizens calling Ranbir "dominating" and a "toxic partner".

In the very early phase of her career, Alia was trolled heavily for failing to correctly name the President of India on a chat show.

Instead of correctly naming Pranab Mukherjee, Alia took the name of Prithviraj Chauhan while her co-actor Varun Dhawan said Manmohan Singh, who was the Prime Minister back then.

On the work front, Ranbir Kapoor, who was at the IFFI to honour his grandfather Raj Kapoor ahead of his 100th birth anniversary, will star alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War.

Ranbir's upcoming films also include Ramayana, which is based on the Hindu epic of the same name, while Alia will next feature in Alpha.
