Mumbai, Oct 5 (IBNS): Singer Sunidhi Chauhan, who is responsible for several super hit songs in Bollywood, is now back with a heart hitting track 'Udd Jaa' from upcoming film 'Saavi – A Bonded Bride'.

Sunidhi was last heard in songs like ‘Move On’ from ‘Tanu Weds Maunu Returns’ but her last hit song was ‘Swing’ from ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ which was picturised on Anushka Sharma and Priyanka Chopra.

Sunidhi is known as a hit machine in Bollywood and is really choosy about the songs she sings.

When she heard the concept behind ‘Udd Jaa’ she readily agreed to do playback for it as it touches the sensitive issue of barter system of women and women empowerment, it’s her way of contributing towards the social awareness of such issues which are still faced by women in our country.

‘Udd Jaa’ is a sufi song which focuses on the progressive thought of women empowerment, the song is composed by Ravi Sheen and lyrics are penned by Munna Dhiman.

The story of Saavi is interestingly based on watta-satta – the barter system for women that exists in certain communities in the Chamba area of Himachal Pradesh.

The movie is shot at the authentic locations of Chamba, Jot, Baddi in Himachal alongwith Shahpur and Pinjore in Haryana. Saavi – The Bonded Bride is produced by Bhanu Sharma. The movie is helmed by national award winning director Rajeev Kumar. The film is expected to release on 6th November.
