Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu turns 37

Mumbai, Jan 7 (IBNS) Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu turned 37 on Thursday.

An excited Bipasha tweeted: "Retail Therapy Birthday giftsssssss! One day to go for my birthday! Woohoo."

A former model, Basu made her Bollywood debut in 2001 with Ajnabee opposite Akshay Kumar. Her portrayal of a negative character earned her a Filmfare Debut Female award.

Born in 1979 in New Delhi, Basu takes active interest in fitness and have also launched various fitness DVDs.

Though she has acted in a string of commercially successful movies, with Dhoom 2 being her highest grosser, Basu garnered praise for her role in late filmmaker Rituporno Ghosh's Bengali movie Sob Choritro Kalponik.

Her performance in movies such as Corporate and Bachna Ae Haseeno have also been lauded by the critics.

Basu was in a relationship with former model Dino Morea for 6 years, post which she essayed another with John Abraham.

When they split in 2011, the 'powercouple' sent everyone in a state of dizzy as marriage was almost on the cards for them.
