Priyanka Chopra tried to commit suicide, claims her former manager

Mumbai, Apr 3 (IBNS) Actress Priyanka Chopra, who is currently making a mark in the international arena with her performance in US TV series 'Quantico', was a trending topic on Twitter on Sunday after her former manager Prakash Jaju claimed that the actress found it tough in her initial years in the film industry and tried to commit suicide.

Jaju took to Twitter to make the shocking revelations after actress Pratyusha Banerjee, who was known for her performance in TV series Balika Vadhua, allegedly committed suicide on Friday. Banerjee had gained immense popularity across the nation for portraying a strong woman character named Anandi in the drama series.

Speaking about Chopra, the former manager said that the actress found it tough to cope up with the demise of her former lover's mother.

"PC was very close to Aseem merchant's mother, her death in 2002 shattered her so much that she tried to jump off karan apt to commit suicide i reached at nick of time & caught hold of her & tied her to a chair till grills were fixed in all the windows of the flat," a tweet read.

Revealing about Chopra's relation with her former boyfriend Aseem Merchant, Jaju said, "Every day PC and Aseem used to fight. She used to call me every night at around 2 am, crying, i would then pick her up and drop her home."

"Once she drove to Vasai to commit suicide and with great difficulty I coaxed her to come back," Jaju said.

He also said that most girls in the entertainment industry have suicidal tendencies.

"I want to say that suicidial tendency is in most of the girls of film industry," Jaju said. 

Chopra, who is considered as one of the most popular actress in India, has worked in several Bollywood movies like 'Andaaz', 'Aitraaz', 'Fashion', 'Barfi! ','Bajirao Mastani' , among others.

The former  Miss World is also working in her first Hollywood project 'Baywatch'.
