Daler Mehndi celebrates 'Azadi Diwas' in New York

Mumbai, Aug 18 (IBNS) : India's favourite pop musician Daler Mehndi was invited as the Guest of Honour alongside U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions, for the National Indian American Public Policy Institute's (NIAPPI) 'Azadi Diwas' celebrations in New York.
Daler Mehndi also graced the closing bell ceremony at the NASDAQ Stock Exchange before taking the party to the world’s largest India Day Parade at the heart of the city.
 
 Chairman of the Committee on House Rules in the U.S. House of Representatives, Congressman Pete Sessions was heard saying that he has become a full-time admirer of Daler Mehndi.
 
He reportedly said that Daler Mehndi is the only artist he knows of who is capable of making everybody from the age of 2 to 80 years, dance to his tunes.
 
Shalab Kumar, Chairman of the National Indian American Public Policy Institute’s (NIAPPI) Business Council, had invited Daler Mehndi personally and was seen giving interviews along with the renowned artist. Globally celebrated folk musician Daler Mehndi won over the hearts of New Yorkers at his brief performance on the way from the NASDAQ Stock Exchange to Madison Avenue for the Federation of Indian Associations’ India Day parade celebrations.
