Mumbai, Jun 18 (IBNS): Director Farhan Akhtar tweeted 'thank-you' on Saturday as his film Lakshya completed 12 years in the box office.
Lakshya, a story of a happy go-lucky youth, who turns into a responsible and fearless soldier, is one of the director's finest work.

Hrithik Roshan plays the lead alongside Preity Zinta. Amitabh Bachchan, Om Puri and Boman Irani are also part of the cast.

Lakshya also featured the unforgettable dance number Main Aisa Kyon Hoon, for which it won the National Film Award for Best Choreography.

Thanking his fans, the cast and crew of the film, Farhan Akhtar wrote, "#12YearsOfLakshya today.. Thank you to the most driven, resilient and passionate cast & crew I've ever worked with."

"#12YearsOfLakshya today.. Thank you to you, the viewers, for keeping its message alive .. Big hug," a second tweet read.

Depicting the life of a soldier, Lakshya was popular among the Indian armed forces too.

Thanking the soldiers for their selfless services, Farhan said, "#12YearsOfLakshya today.. Salute the Indian Army for their selfless service to the nation. Thank you for supporting the film."
