Shruti Haasan channels her inner rockstar

Mumbai, Sept 2 (IBNS): The rockstar mode is on for actress Shruti Haasan, who has been on an endorsement signing spree.

She recently signed up to be the face of a popular chocolate brand, her fourth endorsement in three months, where she sang the super high tempo track of the ad commercial herself along with Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy.

Commenting on Shruti's success, an insider source said, "Brands have been gravitating to Shruti a lot especially given her unique persona - that of an edgy musician and a successful actress pan India. She was signed on by the chocolate brand for the same reason."

"Known for only choosing top of the line faces, the previous ambassadors of this chocolate brand include Rani Mukherjee, Sushant Singh Rajput etc. In the creative brainstorm, the head of the brand was rather keen to have Shruti sing the jingle because the connect was just seamless," the source said.

"She and her team agreed as they knew her voice can give it that high tempo rock feel. Plus, Shruti has worked with the trio on her previous film D Day and recently collaborated with Ehsaan and Loy on an independent single earlier this year so jamming with them to perfect the beat and the lyrics was a cake walk. She recorded the song in less than two hours one evening and it blew the minds of the brand team. Her look in the commercial is also completely grunge and edgy, very close to real rockstar persona. The song has a very catchy quality and Shruti's voice just adds that punch to it," the source added.

While Shruti was unreachable for comments, her spokesperson confirmed the development.
