Kalki starrer 'Margarita, With A Straw' steals the show at the Busan filmfest

Mumbai, Oct 8 (IBNS) : After wowing critics at the 39thToronto International Film Festival, 2014 Kalki Koechlin starrer ‘Margarita, With A Straw', received a standing ovation at the 19thBusan International Film Festival (BIFF).

Produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures, Ishan Talkies, Jakhotia Group and ADAPT,‘Margarita, With A Straw’, is a slice of life film wherein Laila embarks on the journey to seek love and acceptance.

Directed by film-maker Shonali Bose, the film has received standing ovations across all its screenings with rave reviews pouring in from all quarters.

“Masterfully directed and extremely clever, it manages to please the audience in a traditional captivating and tear-jerking way, while telling a ground breaking story that encourages open-mindedness. It is one of the best films of the year,” as per Twitch film, the leading voice in global cinema.

The filmwas also named the Best Asian Film by the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC) during its World Premiere at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival on September 8, 2014.

Travelling the Film Festival circuit - Margarita, With a Straw has also been officially selected at the 58th BFI London Film Festival and will be screened on 17th& 18th October 2014 at Vue West End Cinema &Vue Cinema Islington, London respectively.The film’s stellar cast includes Kalki Koechlin as Laila, veteran star Revathy as Laila’s mother, Hollywood actor William Moseley (lead of the Narnia Chronicles) and the talented new face Sayani Gupta in pivotal roles.
