Bollywood superstar Salman Khan turns 51

Mumbai, Dec 27 (IBNS): Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, who is known for entertaining his fans with his blockbuster releases every year, turned 51 on Tuesday.

In his Twitter account, Salman Khan has shared a picture where he is seen cutting his birthday cake with his nephew baby Ahil accompanying him.

Salman Khan also announced on Twitter that personal app will be launched at 11 am.

"#BeingInTouchTomorrow11am,"Salman Khan posted.

Celebrating his birthday, he announced  51% discount on Being Human clothing for his followers and fans.

"Celebrate my birthday with Flat 51% Off at @bebeinghuman stores and exclusively online @Myntra http://www.myntra.com/being-human  #2712," he tweeted.

A hashtag- '#HappyBirthdaySalmankhan'- is trending on Twitter.

Salman Khan charmed his fans with his release 'Sultan' this year.

He played a wrestler in the movie.

The actor, who made fictional characters of Chulbul Pandey and Lovely Singh (among others) almost come alive, started his career with 'Biwi Ho To Aisi' but it was his second film as 'Maine Pyar Kiya' in which he acted in a lead role, garnered him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut.

Some of his initial successful films include Khan 'Saajan' (1991), 'Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!' (1994), 'Karan Arjun' (1995), 'Judwaa' (1997), 'Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya' (1998), 'Biwi No.1' (1999), and 'Hum Saath Saath Hain' (1999).

He bagged the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for his extended guest appearance in 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' (1998).

The year 2009 marked a significant turning point in Salman's career, as his film 'Wanted', directed by choreographer turned director Prabhu Deva, became a box-office success and earned him the superstar status.

Some of his recent films that had set new Box Office records are  'Dabangg', Bodyguard', 'Ready', 'Ek Tha Tiger', 'Dabangg 2'  and 'Kick'.

He will be seen in 'Tubelight' next year.

The film has been directed by Kabir Khan.
