Mumbai, Apr 16 (IBNS): The Censor Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) has banned Bollywood movie Maatr.

The movie features actress Raveena Tandon.

According to reports, the movie has been rejected on grounds of violating several guidelines.

"Maatr has graphic and gruesome violence against women. The film is carpeted with maa-bahen expletives. We can’t even recommend that the abuses be beeped as they run through the course of the film in an ongoing rush of profanity," says a source in the CBFC to The Quint.

Directed by Ashtar Sayed and written by Michael Pellico, the film has been produced by Anjum Rizvi, Manoj Adhikari & Pugmark Films.

Maatr was scheduled to release on Apr 21, 2017.
