Box-office: Toilet Ek Prem Katha collects Rs 96.05 cr so far

Mumbai, Aug 18 (IBNS): Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's recent release, Toilet Ek Prem Katha, has collected Rs 96 crore at the box-office so far.

The movie, which is based on social stigmas, is expected to rule the roost in the coming week too.

"#ToiletEkPremKatha is FANTASTIC... Starting on a slow note, the biz multiplied rapidly on subsequent days due to SOLID word of mouth. #TEPK," movie critic and business analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.

Adarsh added, "#ToiletEkPremKatha is expected to dominate in Week 2, despite new film releases today... It's a wave that won't slow down so soon... #TEPK."

In another tweet, he said, "#ToiletEkPremKatha Fri 13.10 cr, Sat 17.10 cr, Sun 21.25 cr, Mon 12 cr, Tue 20 cr, Wed 6.50 cr, Thu 6.10 cr. Total: ₹ 96.05 cr. #TEPK."

Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, the movie stars Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles, with support from Anupam Kher, Sana Khan and Divyendu Sharma.

Toilet Ek Prem Katha released on Aug 11.
