Bollywood celebrities wish fans on Makar Sankranti

New Delhi, Jan 14 (IBNS): With the country celebrating  Makar Sankranti (beginning of the harvest season) or Pongal on Sunday, celebrities joined to wish their fans on the auspicious day on social media.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan tweeted: "T 2531 - Happy Makarsankranti to all .. happiness joy and peace ..."

In several images shared by him on Twitter, Big B could be seen flying kites, which is regarded as a tradition followed on this day.

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan tweeted:"Peace and happiness to all of you this Lohri... #HappyLohri."

Actor Akshay Kumar remarked: "Wishing everyone a #HappyLohri. May the festival bring prosperity, happiness and good health to all :)."

Actor Rishi Kapoor posted: "Makkar Sankrant ki Shubh kaamnayen sab ko! Swamiye Saranam Aiyappa!."

In his special greetings to fans, actor Anil Kapoor said: "Wishing everyone a very Happy Makar Sankranti, Pongal & Uttaryan!! May this year be filled with new opportunities, success & happiness!"

Actress Hema Malini tweeted: "Festive season coming up! Pongal & Lohri & Makar Sankranti being the most important ones. Wish u all a very Happy Festival & may God shower his blessings on all of u! It is a harvest festival down south so let’s pray for abundance & plenty too."
