Akshay Kumar is ready with another action thriller this summer - Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty. TWF correspondent Sreya Basu in conversation with the actor in Mumbai

Can you explain the tagline of the film?

This soldier has come on a holiday and it was then he realized that there are so many other problems in the city and hence he is never off duty.

How was it working with Govinda and Ghajini famed Murugadoss?

I have worked with Govinda earlier in Bhagam Bhag (2006). He is one of the finest actors of our industry. As for (AR) Murugadoss (director), even though his height is quite short, his thinking is really high. He is a man of brains.

What made you say yes to a remake of a Tamil film?

Thuppakki (2012) is one of the best made Tamil films. Murugadoss is known for his violent thinking nature which he brings in the film.

You met with an accident while shooting for Holiday. Did you face difficulty in doing stunts after that?

I am thankful to God that so far I have faced no problems during and after doing my stunts and I think I will never face such situation in future as well.

You made your Bollywood acting debut with the 1991 film Saugandh. How do you feel when you look back now?

It is easier to make an entry in Bollywood. But it is very difficult to sustain here. Also today, your job is not just limited to acting. You have to go on promotional spree and you have to share the responsibility of trying to make it a hit at the Box Office.

What do you think is your USP?

Well, throughout my career I have been honest to my job. I have worked very hard, which I still do.

Do you think the number one position in Bollywood is highly manipulated?

I don’t believe in number games. All I want is work, good earning for my family, happiness and health. These are my priorities.

What about the various camps in the industry?

I can only talk about myself. I don’t get into this camp business. I have always worked with everyone who came with a good script.

Are you satisfied with your journey so far?

Yes, I am a very satisfied man. I have got more than I expected.

Being known as the fittest actor of Bollywood, what is your diet plan?

I am a person who enjoys eating food. I need to have my stomach full. I am not interested in dieting.

Share a fitness tip.

I would like to tell them that eat everything but give at least an hour a day to yourself and work out. Also its every important to eat at regular intervals. Eat less but eat every three hours.

What do you do to de-stress yourself?

I don’t stress myself in the first place. I don’t drink or smoke. I don’t have any bad addictions.  I sleep early and wake up early. I believe if you sleep and wake up in time you can’t have any problem in life. Also, I never speak ill about others and try to do at least one good deed a day.
