Daughter of late Bollywood icon Sridevi, Janhvi Kapoor is all set to make her acting debut with Dhadak, opposite young actor Ishaan Khattar. As Janhvi is presently busy in touring various cities for her film's promotion, IBNS--TWF catches up with her
Was it difficult to adapt to the role of Dhadak?
I don't know about difficulty but had to work hard for the film. I felt very enjoyable to work in the film. There was no problem. The entire film unit had worked hard and with full heart. Hope people will notice the hard work and appreciate it. So far character is concerned, the character of Parthavi is very assertive than I am in real life. She is a very strong willed girl and very clear and mature, and to portray that was work for me.
How was the feeling before the first night of shooting?
I didn't sleep the entire night because I was so excited to act in front of camera. I was a bit nervous but also much comfortable. Never had any issue about the lines (memorising dialogues). I was just thinking of enjoying in front of camera.
How was the experience of shooting in Kolkata?
Kolkata has been really special for us. An important part of the film has been shot in the city. I am very happy to be here and shooting in Kolkata. It was an amazing experience and people of Kolkata have shown us a lot of love.
Any actor whose life you would like to portray on-screen?
I would like to play Meena Kumari on-screen. I am her big fan. I would be ecstatic if I get an opportunity to portray her onscreen.
Do you have any memorable moments from the shoot?
Each and every day was memorable. But during the Kolkata schedule, one day during an outdoor shoot, there were lots of media people and we only had time for one shot. So a reporter, who was following me, was captured in the take. The shot is also in the film.
