KASHISH 2018 announces International Poster Contest
Mumbai, Dec 21 (IBNS): KASHISH Mumbai International Queer Film Festival - South Asia's biggest LGBTQ film fest - has announced an International Poster Design Contest for its 2018 edition.
The winner will receive a cash prize of Rs 25,000 instituted by one of India's top fashion designers Wendell Rodricks, who will also judge the competition. KASHISH 2018 will be held from May 23-27, 2018 in Mumbai.
"I am proud to be out here supporting the KASHISH. Each year the poster moves forward in different directions that the LGBT community grows towards. I wish the participant all the best... and to the organizers, more success, greater visibility and empowerment to the LGBT community via KASHISH 2018," Wendell Rodricks.
The official poster will define the overall look of the 9th edition of the film festival. The theme of the festival this year is ‘Together, With Pride’
"This year’s theme ‘Together, With Pride’ is very apt considering KASHISH is one of the biggest pride events in India, embracing diversity of LGBTQ community and allies. We hope to make KASHISH 2018 more diverse and inclusive and are reaching out across various communities and bringing them all together," said Sridhar Rangayan, Festival Director.
“Every year the look of KASHISH has been defined by the unique design that comes out of this design contest which receives entries from across the world. This year the stakes are higher and we are looking forward to some amazing entries," added Rangayan.
The winning design will be used on billboards (hoardings), banners, cinema slides, delegate cards, T-shirts and catalog cover.
