Oscars 2022 nominations out, Will Smith, Denzel Washington feature in Best Actor list

Los Angeles/IBNS: The highly anticipated nomination list for the 94th Academy Awards is out and popular names like Will Smith and Denzel Washington feature in the Best Actor list.

The Power Of The Dog, directed by Jane Campion, leads the nominations bagging 12 categories including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor for Benedict Cumberbatch, and two Best Supporting Actor nods for Jesse Plemons and Kodi Smit-McPhee.

Dune has 10 nominations while West Side Story and Belfast follow leads in seven; and King Richard, which stars Will Smith, has six nominations.

An Indian documentary on women Dalit journalists titled Writing With Fire has been nominated for Best Documentary Feature.

The 94th annual Academy Awards will be held on March 27 at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre and will be televised on ABC.

For the first time in three years, the Oscars will have a host in 2022, Craig Erwich, president of ABC Entertainment and Hulu Originals, as announced in January.
