Buenos Aires: Popular Argentine actress and model Silvina Luna died after a long fight with health issues caused by the side effects of plastic surgery.

The 43-year-old TV personality had been grappling with kidney failure since 2011.

Buenos Aires Times reported Luna was in and out of hospitals for some time as she suffered from severe health issues that emerged from the application of a toxic substance to her body during cosmetic surgery.

Her lawyer, Fernando Burlando, confirmed the news of her demise. He said Luna’s family had decided to remove her from life support after the doctors said she needed intubation again.

"We've always loved you; we'll always love you; we've gone down the same roads; we're always together in my heart because you are my chosen family," wrote her friend, actor Gustavo Conti, in a post on Instagram.

According to Buenos Aires Times Anibal Lotocki, the doctor who applied the toxic substance on Luna, is facing prosecution for malpractice.

The reality TV star had to go through dialysis for several hours every week to sustain her life.
