Taylor Swift's 16-year-old fan dies in road mishap on way to her Melbourne concert

A sixteen-year-old fan of singing sensation Taylor Swift died in a head-on collision with a semi-trailer while she was on his way to attend a concert in Melbourne.

The deceased person was identified as Mieka Pokarier.

Mieka’s little sister Freya Pokarier, who is 10-year-old, was hurt in the incident.

The girls and their mother were on their way from the Gold Coast to see Taylor Swift in concert in Melbourne, reported 7 News.

The 10-year-old, who was critically injured was airlifted to Westmead Hospital.

Their mother was treated by paramedics before being taken to Dubbo Hospital with minor injuries, the news portal reported.

New South Wales police said in a statement: "The driver of the semi-trailer was taken to Dubbo Hospital in a stable condition."

"A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident has commenced," the police said.

GoFundMe page

Meanwhile, a family friend has set up a GOFundMe page to help the victims.

"Hi my name is Karleigh, the blogger formally known as Sausage Mama.Last night one of my dearest friends was driving from the Gold Coast to Melbourne with two of her children (my god children) when they were involved in a front on collision with a semi trailer," the page said.
