Hollywood actresses launch Time's Up, to help fight sexual harassment at workplace
Hollywood, Jan 2 (IBNS): Ushering in the new year, more than 300 individuals in Hollywood, including actresses, directors and writers, have joined hands to launch a new project to help fight sexual harassment at workplace.
Titled Time's Up, the project was announced via a display advertisement in the New York Times.
The project is supported by some of the biggest names in Hollywood, including Academy Award winners Natalie Portman, Cate Blanchett and Emma Stone.
The initiative has been described as a "unified call for change from women in entertainment for women everywhere".
So far the project has been able to raise $13 million of its targeted $15 million.
The collected money will be used to fund and support both male and female victims.
This comes after the 2017 Hollywood meltdown, in which a number of influential people, including producer Harvey Weinstein and actors Kevin Spacey and Dustin Hoffman, were accused by several others of sexually harassing them.
