Millo Sunka of Arunachal Pradesh wins best actress at international film festival
Itanagar/IBNS: Millo Sunka, hailing from Arunachal Pradesh, has achieved the distinction of becoming the first actor from her state to be honored with the Best Leading Actress award at an international film festival.
The acclaimed Prisma Rome International Film Awards 2023 recognized Sunka, a native of Hapoli in Lower Subansiri district, for her exceptional performance in the short film "Nocturnal Burger" and honored her with the best leading actress award, reported EastMojo.
Having made its debut at the Sundance Film Festival 2023, which is the largest independent film festival in the United States, "Nocturnal Burger" received worldwide acclaim.
The film, which was written and directed by Reema Maya, was showcased at the Aspen Film Festival 2023, an Oscar-qualifying film festival as well.
It has already been recognized with numerous accolades at several international film festivals.

The Tiéte Film Festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil, honored the film with multiple awards including Best Narrative Short Film, Best Director for a Narrative Short Film, Best Editing, Best Production Design, and the Bronze Tilapia Award for Social Awareness.
At the Short Film Factory in Bucharest, Romania, the film won the award for Best "Social Change".
Furthermore, the film won several awards at the Prisma Rome Independent Film Awards in March 2023, which included Best Short Film, Best of the Fest, Best Director, Best Leading Actress for Millo Sunka, Best Cinematography, and Best Sound.
It was also selected as an official entry for the USA Film Festival in April 2023 and The Norwegian Short Film Festival in June 2023.
In addition to her notable performance in "Nocturnal Burger," Millo Sunka has gained recognition in the Bollywood industry for her roles in "The Last Hour" (2021) and "Axone" (2019).
