Filmmaker Blessy's Malayalam film Aadujeevitham (The Goat Life in English) starring Prithviraj Sukuraman, a survival drama, was released in theatres on Thursday.

Actor Kamal Haasan and filmmaker Mani Ratnam were among the few who watched the film prior to its release. The two have given reviews that have led Prithviraj elated.

Haasan, who watched the film with Mani Ratnam, said in a video message, "I thank Blessy. It's hard work. It has really happened to someone. Mr Mani Ratnam wondered how you worked, where in the interval you feel like drinking more water. Your thirst for making a different kind of cinema is also seen.

"Prithviraj has done so much, especially the shot he bathes, I never thought he would have gone this far. The cameraman (Sunil KS) it's very difficult. Filmmakers we understand, I want the audience also to understand. Excellent film, I want the people to support it as well."

Sharing the video on his X handle, Prithviraj said, "I’d consider this as big an award as any for #AADUJEEVITHAM #TheGoatLife ! Thank you Sir @ikamalhaasan Fanboy for life!"

Mani Ratnam says in a video message, "It's amazing, breathtaking visuals. Prithviraj has done really amazing work. I think the whole team has done amazing work. I don't know how they did it. I don't envy you, it must have been very difficult (laughs). Amazing! Congrats."

Replying to his message, Prithviraj said, "Thank you Sir! #ManiRatnam Means the world coming from you!"

The film is based on a 2008 Malayalam novel of the same name written by Benyamin.

In the survival drama, Prithviraj played a Malayali immigrant labourer who finds himself in a situation where he was forced into slavery on a secluded farm in Saudi Arabia.
