The film, which is centred on Durga Puja in north Kolkata, was announced here Thursday.
Speaking of pairing with Churni Ganguly onscreen, Kaushik Ganguly, who was attracted to the film's "innocence and positivity", tells India Blooms, "This is the first time me and Churni are playing an onscreen couple. I am excited to see how that works out."
However, Churni Ganguly, who spent the Durga Puja in the "quietness of the hills" in her younger days, is worried for a reason.

"We have acted together in the same films before but this is the first time any director apart from Kaushik cast us together and also as an onscreen couple. That is giving me a lot of excitement," she tells India Blooms and adds, "Actually Kaushik starts laughing when he acts with me and I am worried that might also happen in this film (laughs)."
Some of the films where the two featured but not as an onscreen couple include Laptop, Bastu Shaap, Drishtikone.
Not just the veteran actors, Tollywood's popular onscreen couple Bonny Sengupta and Koushani Mukherjee will also be pairing up as husband-wife in the film.

Speaking about their respective characters, Sengupta and Mukherjee share that their roles are more "mature" and "responsible" in this film in contrast to their previous adventures.
"I hope I will be able to play this mature character, who is a married man," says Sengupta followed by Mukherjee who adds, "My character, who is a married woman, has a huge responsibility."
Director Sen, who is planning to go on shooting floors in July end, says he had conceived the plot during last year's Durga Puja.
A Kichukhan Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. project is slated for post Durga Puja release this year.
