Kolkata/IBNS: A year after the massive success of his venture Tonic, leading Bengali actor-producer Dev paired with filmmaker Avijit Sen for Projapati, which was released on the big screens on Friday.

In an almost continuation of his recent trend of pairing with veteran actors on-screen, Dev featured alongside Mithun Chakraborty for Projapati, which marks the film debut of actor Sweta Bhattacharya.

Forty-six years after Mrigaya was released, Mithun Chakraborty and another veteran Mamata Shankar are seen together on-screen through Projapati, which is jointly produced by Dev Entertainment Ventures and Bengal Talkies.

The film also stars actor Koushani Mukherjee in a key role.

The premiere of the film was held at the iconic Priya Cinema in Kolkata.

What did the lead actors, other stars say at the premiere?

Dev: A lot of Bengali films are releasing this Christmas. But we are overwhelmed to receive the positive reviews. I have always felt 'content is the king'. At present, word of mouth matters a lot.

Mamata Shankar: I am extremely nervous. I just want to thank the entire team for making the film.

Rukmini Maitra: All are saying the film is already a superhit. It feels so good to hear such appreciation. I am personally very excited to watch Mithun Chakraborty and Dev as a pair on-screen.

Sweta Bhattacharya: I have been nervous since this is my first film. We are receiving good reviews.

Koushani Mukherjee: I am very excited. I am confident that Projapati will achieve a great height because the audience loves to watch this kind of family-oriented films. Projapati is a perfect Christmas gift for the audience.

Bonny Sengupta: We have seen Dev and Mithun Chakraborty in commercial films but Projapati is a different film. I hope their effort becomes successful and gives meaty box office numbers.
