The makers have unveiled the official poster of the film, which was screened at the 29th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF), to critical acclaim from the audience last year.
The film won a Special Jury Award at KIFF for 'Innovation in Moving Images' and the Best Actor Award for Anjan Dutt at the Dhaka International Film Festival.
Crafted with attention to detail by Dutt, 'Chaalchitra Ekhon' embarks on a nostalgic expedition to the 1980s, delving deep into the genesis of Mrinal Sen's masterpiece, 'Chalchitra'.

In the film, Dutt steps into the shoes of Mrinal Sen, portrayed as Kunal Sen, while debutant Sawon Chakraborty breathes life into the character of young Anjan Dutt, playing Ranjan Dutt. Bidipta Chakraborty graces the screen as the director's wife, adding depth to the narrative.
Anjan Dutt remarked, "Mrinal Sen's impact on Indian cinema is immeasurable; he didn't just make films, he reshaped narratives, challenged conventions, and inspired generations of filmmakers.
"'Chaalchitra Ekhon' not only pays homage to Sen's cinematic brilliance but also seeks to ignite a new wave of appreciation for his enduring legacy."

At its core, the film celebrates the dynamic relationship between mentor and disciple, embodied by Kunal and Ranjan.
Through their collaborative journey on an ambitious film project, they confront inner demons, societal pressures, and ultimately find solace in Kolkata's rich cultural tapestry, accentuated by musical compositions of Neel Dutt.
