Stepping into the shoes of Mrinal Sen, Dutt delivers a captivating performance, while Sawon Chakraborty breathes life into the character of young Anjan Dutt, playing Ranjan Dutt. Bidipta Chakraborty adds depth to the narrative as the director's wife.
Speaking at the trailer launch event, Dutt says, "Everybody calls his film 'special'. But Chaalchitra Ekhon is indeed special to me because it's about someone, who is the reason behind my attempt to become a filmmaker. I would not have come to the cinema if there was no one called Mrinal Sen. Probably I would have done theatre."
"I have been associated with Sen for a long time spanning across four decades. It has been a long term bonding with Mrinal Sen. I never spoke of it. But I needed to make this film to celebrate my bonding with Mrinal Sen. I am grateful that I could release it on his 100th birth anniversary" he added.
