With its bold and poignant narrative, Khawto trailer had to undergo several changes to have a U/A certification and to be played across TV channels.
Director Kamaleswar Mukherjee said, “Khawto redefines the way we see relationships in general, it goes beyond the humdrum of general life and gets deep into physical & psychological space which usually remains unexplored in a relationship. I had to portray that on-screen, otherwise my story-telling remains incomplete. But we had to make two versions of the trailer and few crucial scenes were edited separately for the U/A version. However the mentioned scenes were very aesthetically conceived and shot.”
Releasing this 22nd July, Khawtois a unique story on relationships, which doesn't restrain itself because of any limitation. Prosenjit Chatterjee states,“PlayingNirbedLahiri is like breaking away from everything and molding myself in a way I couldn't imagine. Going by director's vision, I believe I have done my best to bring alive a man who will be loved and hated at the same time, something which Bengali audience hasn't witnessed in a long time.”
