Toronto: 'And We Go Green', which has been directed by Fisher Stevens (Cove) and filmmaker Malcolm Venville had its world premiere on Friday in Scotiabank Theatre, here.

The synopsis of the story is the race of the professional drivers on the international Formula E circuit with eco-friendly electric cars racing for victory across 12 major cities -- from Hong Kong to Paris to New York  -- competing to become champion of the season.

Formula E is the fastest growing motorsport in the world, combining the excitement of Formula One racing with the environmentalism of electric cars.

"And we go green" is the slogan shouted with the green light at the start of each race.

Oscar-winning filmmaker Fisher Stevens (The Cove), a Chicago-born actor, producer, and director. teams with Malcolm Venville -- a British photographer and director best known for his fiction films -- to build a real-life drama at the race track.

Malcolm Venville has directed television commercials, music videos, short films. And We Go Green is his first feature-length documentary.

Fisher Stevens has appeared in nearly 100 film and TV roles and produced the Oscar-winning The Cove. And We Go Green (19) is his latest documentary.

Many Formula E drivers came from Formula One and include past winners of Le Mans. The film's cast includes Frenchman Jean-Éric Vergne, Englishman Sam Bird, and Brazilian Nelson Piquet Jr.
