Gurinder Chadha's Viceroy's House releases in India

Mumbai, Aug 18 (IBNS): Director Gurinder Chadha's movie Viceroy's House released in India on Friday.

Gurinder tweeted: "Finally Viceroy's House in now out in India! I can move on next stop US and Canada release!"

The film is written by Paul Mayeda Berges, Moira Buffini, and Chadha.

The film stars Hugh Bonneville, Gillian Anderson, Manish Dayal, Huma Qureshi, and Michael Gambon. It has been selected to be screened out of competition at the 67th Berlin International Film Festival.

Actress Huma also urged her fans to watch the movie as she posted: "#Partition1947 in cinemas today @GurinderC #August18th ."

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said the movie is 'beyond commercial interests'.

"Such movies are beyond commercial interests. Eager to see the revealing facts in #Partition1947 ! I'm doing a special screening," he tweeted.
