After actresses Pallavi-Bidisha, now Bengali actress Manjusha found dead in south Kolkata home
Kolkata: The Bengali film industry which is already reeling under two shocking deaths within a span of 10 days, witnessed yet another tragedy on Friday, when model-actress Manjusha Neogi was found hanging at her family home in south Kolkata.
The back-to-back incidents have sent shockwaves through the Tullygunj film fraternity as exactly two days back her friend Bidisha De Majumdar was found dead under similar circumstances, police said.
Manjusha's family said the actress, who had landed a small role of a nurse in TV serial "Kanchi" went into "deep depression after news broke about Bidisha's death".
Manjusha, who was married, had visited her father's house recently.
Her mother told the media here that her daughter, who is in her 20s, returned from the shooting on Thursday in good mood but when she did not answer to knockings on her door at her Patuli apartment on Friday morning, the police were called.
Manjusha's friend and another aspiring actress, Bidisha, was found dead in her flat in Nagerbazar area of Dum Dum on Wednesday night.
Police found Bidisha’s body hanging from the ceiling fan along with a suicide note.
On May 15, Pallavi Dey, who is said to have been close to Bidisha, was the first to be found dead in Garfa area under mysterious circumstances.
