Aishwarya Rai Bachchan turns 41
Mumbai, Nov 1 (IBNS): Bollywood actress and former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan turned 41 years of age on Saturday.
If media speculations are to be believed, her husband Abhishek Bachchan will celebrate the special day in a grand manner with his 'Happy New Year' team.
This year Aishwarya's birthday celebration will receive perhaps an extra fillip after the huge Box Office success of her husband's film.
The globally famed actress made her acting debut in the 1997 biographical film 'Iruvar' and starred in the commercially successful 1998 film 'Jeans'.
She earned wide public recognition and Best Actress awards at Filmfare for her leading roles in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 1999 melodrama 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' and the 2002 period film 'Devdas'.
Besides the Filmfare awards, Aishwarya was the youngest Indian actress to be conferred with the fourth-highest civilian award, Padma Shri, by the Indian government.
The talented actress not only won the hearts with her roles in 'Devdas', 'Taal', 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam', 'Jodhaa Akbar', 'Guzaarish' and 'The Mistress of Spices' but also conquered critical acclaim with her performances in films like 'Choker Bali' and 'Raincoat'.
A regular jury at The Cannes Film Festival, the actress has also showcased her talents in the Hollywood industry in films like 'The Pink Panther 2' and 'Bride and Prejudice'.
Ash and Abhishek Bachchan got married in 2007 and are the parents of a girl child named Aaradhya.
Aishwarya, who took a long break from the industry, is planning her comeback with a lead role in 'Jazbaa', an action thriller from director Sanjay Gupta.
The film is scheduled to begin filming in January 2015.
