Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt has informed her upcoming film 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' will be released on Feb 18, 2022.

Earlier, the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial film was slated to release on Jan 6, 2022.

"18th February, 2022," she tweeted.

The film marks the first collaboration between the ace filmmaker and Bhatt.

It is produced by Bhansali and Jayantilal Gada under their respective banners Bhansali Productions and Pen India Limited.

The movie is based on a chapter of Hussain Zaidi's book Mafia Queens of Mumbai about Gangubai Kathiawadi, a brothel owner and matriarch.

Bhatt, one of the leading contemporary Bollywood actors, was last seen in Sadak 2, which premiered on an Over-the-top (OTT) platform amid COVID-19 last year.
