Dangal becomes victim of online piracy

Mumbai, Dec 24 (IBNS): One of the most awaited releases of the year-Dangal- has become the latest victim of online piracy.

Aamir Khan's latest movie was released on Facebook.

The movie was released on the social netowrking site by a Dubai-based netizen.

The video was later reported.

It is currently unavailable on Facebook.

The video was reportedly having over 8,33,000 views till it could be last seen, media reports said.

The video was uploaded by a netizen who goes by the name Hashmi Ah.

As per his Facebook profile, he called himself as a 'Uploder at YouTube'.

He posted: "Omg 10k+ Facebook Followers in just 14hours!!"

Following a strong start at the domestic Box-office, Bollywood superstar Amir Khan's latest release Dangal took off smoothly in Australia and New Zealand.

"#Dangal takes a FABULOUS start in Australia and New Zealand," business analyst and movie critic Taran Adarsh's tweet read.

The movie has already minted INR 1.22 crore at the Australian box-office on two days.

"#Dangal - AUSTRALIA... Debuts at No 5 on Aus charts...Thu A$ 5,800 [limited shows] Fri A$ 245,079. Total: A$ 250,879 [₹ 1.22 cr],' Adarsh tweeted.

Debuting at number four in New Zealand, Dangal has made INR 43.31 lakh.

"#Dangal - NEW ZEALAND... Debuts at No 4 on NZ charts...Thu NZ$ 28,019 Fri NZ$ 64,820. Total: NZ$ 92,839 [₹ 43.31 lacs]," the critic tweeted.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Dangal is a biopic of India's foremost wrestling family, the Phogats.

It stars Amir Khan as former Indian wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and Fatima Sana Sheikh and Sanya Malhotra as wrestlers Geeta and Babita Phogat respectively.

Dangal released on Dec 23, 2016 in India.
