Deepika Padukone kicks off first day as jury member in style at 75th Cannes Film Festival
Cannes/IBNS: Bollywood beauty with brain Deepika Padukone, who checked into the French Riveria on Monday, began her duty as a jury member a day later, at the opening of the 75th edition of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.
Padukone has been a regular at the festival for a few years now but this time it's bigger and more special for the Indian actor to have made it to the jury panel.
On Tuesday evening, the actress was pictured at the Cannes opening ceremony, along with fellow jury members Rebecca Hall, Noomi Rapace and Italian actor-director Jasmine Trinca, as well as directors Asghar Farhadi, Ladj Ly, Jeff Nichols and Joachim Trier.
Earlier in the day, she was spotted wearing a printed shirt with a green bellbottom from Sabyasachi’s Tropic of Calcutta collection.
She made her first red carpet appearance at the 75th annual Cannes Film Festival wearing an exquisite couture sari from Sabyasachi, inspired by the majestic Bengal Tiger.
Besides Padukonea, other attendees this year include actors Pooja Hegde, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Nayanthara, Tamannaah Bhatia, Grammy winning composers AR Rahman and Rickey Kej and R Madhavan whose film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is set to premiere.
TV stars Hina Khan and Helly Shah will also be in attendance.
Actor Akshay Kumar was also on the guest list but had to cancel the same after he got tested positive for Covid-19.
