Ed Skrein underwent training in various fighting styles for 'The Transporter: Refueled'

Los Angeles, Aug 20 (IBNS): The 'Transporter' series are known for their awesome car chase scenes as well as impressive unarmed combat sequences and the new ‘The Transporter: Refueled’ promises to be a treat for fans of the series on both counts.

Reportedly, Ed Skrein, who will play Frank Martin in the film, underwent rigorous training in various fighting styles for his role in the film.

Elaborating on the same, Skrein said, “I used to be a competitive swimmer and I’ve done a lot of endurance sports over the years, but since I had no martial-art experience, I turned up on that first day in the gym knowing that I really had a high mountain to climb. We wanted to create a unique system of fighting, different from the previous franchise and from all the other movies we’ve seen. It was a mix of Krav Maga, Kali, Filipino stick fighting, English boxing and close combat. Fight choreographer Alain Figlarz is a genius and he created the perfect environment for me to grow physically and mentally.”

‘The Transporter: Refueled’ also stars Gabriella Wright, Radivoje Bukvic, Anatole Taubman and Tatiana Pajkovic.

To be released by Relativity-B4U, this action extravaganza, which will be out in four languages viz. English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, is slated to hit screens on September 4.
