The Producers Guild of India and Multiplex Association of India on Monday said India witnessed one of the busiest single weekends from August 11 to August 13 since the reopening of the market post-COVID-19.

Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 and Akshay Kumar's OMG 2 in Hindi, Rajinikanth's Jailer in Tamil and Chiranjeevi's Bholaa Shankar hit the silver screen around the same time and all of them are currently creating strong marks at the Box Office.

The weekend saw these movies combined to set a new all-time theatrical gross box office record by earning Rs 390 crore for the industry.

This is a new record set in the 100 years history of the industry.

More than 2.10 crore moviegoers visited the theatre over the weekend to watch their favourite stars create magic on the silver screen, a new record again in the past 10 years.
