His 'ashirwaad' made me who I am today: SRK pays tribute to Rishi Kapoor
Mumbai/IBNS: As the nation mourns the death of Rishi Kapoor, Bollywood's Badshah Shah Rukh Khan remembered how his first co-star from 'Deewana' helped him 'become an actor.'
In a heartfelt tribute to Rishi Kapoor, SRK recalled how he was nervous on the first day of shoot for his debut film 'Deewana.'
"I was insecure about the way I looked and afraid that I was not talented enough. The thought of failing meant nothing though, because even if I failed I would have worked with the greatest actor I knew of - Rishi sahib," he wrote in a long post.
He also mentioned that Rishi Kapoor had waited for his shot to finish following which the legendary actor gave him a pat on his head.
"On the first day of shoot, he sat for my scene to finish after pack up. Then with that famously radiant smile on his face, he said, "yaar tujhme energy bahut hai! That day in my head I became an actor," SRK revealed in his post.
The 'My Name Is Khan' actor said he will miss Rishi Kapoor for the 'ashirwaad' that made his a superstar of the Indian film industry.
Remembering Kapoor's contributions, SRK said: "Few men have the capacity for grace as he did, fewer still have the large heartedness of the feeling genuine happiness for the success of others."
"I will miss him for many things but more than all of them, I will miss him for the gentle pat on my head every time we met. I will keep it in my heart always as the 'aashirwaad' that made me who I am today," his post read.

Shah Rukh Khan featured in his debut film 'Deewana' with Rishi Kapoor and the late Divya Bharti.
Later, he reunited with Rishi Kapoor for 'Jab Tak Hain Jaan.'
Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan also visited Rishi Kapoor in New York during the late actor's treatment in the country.
Within hours of surviving the shocking news of actor Irrfan Khan's untimely death, India woke up to the news of Kapoor's demise on Thursday morning.
The Mulk actor, who was battling leukemia for some time now, was on Wednesday night admitted to a Mumbai hospital where he breathed his last at 8:45 am. He was 67.
He was cremated at Chandawadi crematorium at 4 pm here in presence of wife Neetu, Ranbir, Bhatt, other family members Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan and actor Abhishek Bachchan.
Kapoor, who had stolen millions of hearts with his spirited screen presence and lover boy roles in the 1970s through the 80s, made his debut as hero in Bobby opposite Dimple Kapadia.
His romantic pairing with his wife Neetu in several films of 1970s entertained the audiences of all ages. He went on to act opposite all leading ladies of Bollywood besides sharing screen space with other heroes of his time- from the legendary Amitabh Bachchan to Vinod Khanna and many more.
