Hrishikesh Pandey: Some people like to be part of controversies

Mumbai: Actor Hrishikesh Pandey says that he is someone who likes to be away from controversies.

However, there are many, he says, who thrive on the fact that they are involved in a controversy and even take advantage of that.

“Personal things are very personal and I don't like to get involved in any controversies. There are different kinds of people and some even look out for controversies. Some people like it creating controversies and being part of them works in their favour. But I avoid it. I feel that it's better to be quiet and lie low. I have come up in situations like these for whatever reasons in the past but when it's not your fault, you can't keep explaining to people. People who know you, will know if you are right or wrong,” he says.

The actor adds that it’s important for celebrities to take responsibility of what they post. “People look up to you and you need to be more responsible in a public place. Your fans look up to you and so you need to be more responsible. Everyone is a human being and everybody has a temperament, a reaction to certain situations which is quite normal. I think people should not be so judgemental. Why judge a particular set of people, even if they are celebrities, let them be themselves,” he says.

Meanwhile, the actor says that there are still lots of celebrities who are doing well but are not part of social media.

“It’s commercial that your success or failure is on social media. Each to his own, it's always our choice. There are stars who do a lot of work and are doing so well. Everyone knows that they are stars but they are not on social media. There are people who like these things and like that people talk about them. I don't blame anyone. Let them do what they do,” he says.

He adds, “When you become something, there are people who look up to you. That responsibility keeps growing. You need to understand that if you are somebody then you need to behave in a certain way. By certain way, I don't mean being artificial, it means being more responsible towards the work you do. Being a celebrity, there are plus and minus. You are always scrutinized for your actions. Many times, you are tired and exhausted and want to just be with your loved ones and family. But while having dinner, there are some people who want to take pictures with you, and you have to oblige. I never say no as we also know that whatever we are is because of them. However, at times they are unable to understand that the actor is also occupied with his family and are very eager.’
