I am not actively seeking something in Hollywood: Deepika Padukone
Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone, who had earlier worked in a Hollywood film, has recently revealed her plans in the west.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Padukone said what she looks for is a good script irrespective of any film industry.
When she was asked about her plans in Hollywood, the 34-year old actress said, "I don’t look or evaluate films as Indian or international, but as a medium where I can express myself. If that opportunity is out of India, great. If that is out of the United States or another part of the world, I am happy to explore that too. For me, it’s always been content.
I did Xander Cage because it was an extremely powerful, strong character to play. Eventually, it’s about the character and role, and of course, the film. It’s not like I’m actively seeking something in Hollywood. Whether India or any other part in the world, great content is what I seek."
After establishing her strong hold in Bollywood or the Hindi film industry, Padukone ventured into the west in 2017 with 'xXx: The Return of Xander Cage' starring opposite actor Vin Diesel.
In India, the senior actress was last seen in Meghna Gulzar's Chhapaak where she played the role of acid-attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.
She will next be seen in Kapil Dev's biopic ''83' where the Bollywood diva has played the role of the World Cup winning captain's wife's role.
Kapil Dev, the former Indian cricket captain, has been essayed in the film by Padukone's actor husband Ranveer Singh.
