Imtiaz Ali hosts screening of Bengali film 'Teenkahon'

Mumbai, Sept 4 (IBNS): Slated to release on Sept 11, Bengali film 'Teenkahon' has been receiving immense support from the Bollywood industry as well, for its intriguing story and promising performances. Impressed with director Bauddhayan Mukherji’s work, Imtiaz Ali who has associated himself with the film, hosted a screening last evening for his friends from the industry.

Present at the soiree were director Vikramaditya Motwane, Zoya Akhtar, Dia Mirza, Isha Koppikar, Sunidhi Chauhan, Dinesh Vijan, Tillotama Shome, Irshad Kamil, Anup Singh among others.

Speaking about the film Imtiaz Ali said, “Unique film, yet connected. It’s been made with a lot of love, inspiration. Great detailing, clear cut characters. High class cinema!” 

 

Guests from the industry enjoyed and appreciated the film as well.

Isha Koppikar said, “I am speechless right now. I still have a hangover of the movie.” When asked for reasons why she liked the movie she added, “Unique, different, well shot, technicolor”

Actress Rituparna Sengupta who also plays a part in the film said, “The best part of this movie is the three colors it has been shot in, the first story is shot in Black and White, the second in sepia and the third one’s colored. It is an amazing movie and a must watch for sure.”

Later that evening Dia Mirza tweeted saying, “Imtiaz Ali presents a Bengali film #Teenkahon a very intriguing and engaging exploration of love. Do watch :) releases on 11th Sept.”

Actress Tillotama Shome also tweeted saying, “Do watch this film releasing on Sept 11th:Three stories of obsession spanning 100 yrs. Congratulations @bauddhayan !”

Teenkahon is a film which, as a piece of social document, tries to capture the changing face of morality, the degeneration of values, the increasing pollution of the spoken language and the changing social fabric of Bengal through three stories.
