Intolerance of any kind is the worst thing: SRK

Mumbai, Nov 2 (IBNS): Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who turned 50 on Monday, called 'intolerance of any kind' as the worst thing faced by the society.

"Religious intolerance, or intolerance of any kind, is the worst thing. Indians lose face over the questions that are asked," Khan told NDTV.

He said: "If you are a patriot, you must love your country as a whole, not parts of it as religions and regions."

Several recipients of awards given by the Centre returned their awards in recent times.

Speaking on the issue, Khan told the news channel: "I think it's very brave of those returning their awards. I am on their side. If they tell me to join them on a march or a press conference, I would...Personally, it's too much of symbolism to return my awards. Just returning something, I am not a believer in that."

Protesting against rising intolerance and coming out in support of the students of Pune's Film and Television Institute of India (FTII)  , ten filmmakers, including Dibakar Banerjee and  Anant Patwardhan, on Wednesday decided to return the nationalawards.
