Mumbai/IBNS: 'Jawan' is the fifth film where Bollywood's leading actress Deepika Padukone collaborated with Shah Rukh Khan, who gave her first break in the Hindi film industry with 2007 film 'Om Shanti Om'.

In 'Jawan'- directed by Atlee Kumar- Deepika plays an extended cameo (Aishwarya Rathod), the wife of the older version of Shah Rukh (Vikram Rathod).

On saying 'yes' to 'Jawan' despite knowing a cameo, Deepika, who is one of the busiest actors in the country, said, "It was two-fold for me. One, everyone knows my love for him. Whatever he wants, I'll always be there. But also the movie is so special that any actor, not just me, would agree to do this film because it was about the vision.

"All of us invested in that vision, it's not about how big or small the role was. So for me, it was the story that we were telling and the impact which was going to have on the lives of this amazing audience."

Deepika made the comment at a press conference organised post success of the big budget project, which is poised to surpass all records scripted by Shah Rukh's previous release 'Pathaan'.

The actress, who shares a warm relationship with SRK off-screen, said it was "love" between the two that gets reflected in films each time they work together.

Prior to 'Jawan', Shah Rukh-Deepika starrer 'Pathaan' stormed into the box office in January 2023.

'Pathaan', which was the comeback film of SRK, portrayed Deepika in her sizzling avatar besides her action sequences.

Speaking on her chemistry with Shah Rukh, Deepika had earlier told The Week, "We are each other's lucky charm. But honestly, we are beyond luck. We have a sense of ownership over each other."

"I am one of the few people he is vulnerable with. There is so much trust and respect, and I think that luck is just the cherry on the top," she added.
