Kolkata: Priya Cinema to host Ritwik Ghatak Film Festival

Kolkata, Mar 28 (IBNS) The iconic Priya Cinema will witness a tribute to the master film maker Ritwik Ghatak with a Ritwik Ghatak Film Festival on the occasion of his 40th death anniversary which was on Feb 6.

The 6 days festival will begin on Apr 8 with the screening of Nagarik and shall feature Meghe Dhaka Tara, Komal Gandhar, Subarnarekha, Titas –Ekti Nadir Naam & Jukti Takko r Galpo.

The Film Festival from Apr 8 - Apr 13 is being jointly organized by Priya Entertainments Pvt Ltd and Ritwik Ghatak Memorial Trust and shall be inaugurated by eminent filmmaker Goutam Ghosh and Samita Ghatak, daughter of Ritwik Ghatak.

Arijit Dutta, Managing Director, Priya Entertainments Pvt Ltd, expressed his deep sense of satisfaction that PEPL could join hands with the Trust to pay its homage to the Master craftsman.

For Piyali Films and PRIYA, being a torchbearer of the industries having produced and screened epoch making films of Satyajit Ray and others, this would be another momentous occasion. He expects the younger generation would flock the theatre to watch the classics of Ritwik Ghatak.
