Marathi film "Elizabeth Ekadashi" to be the opening film in IFFI 2014

New Delhi, Oct 18 (IBNS): Indian Panorama 2014 on Saturday announced its final selection of Feature and Non-Feature films to be screened at 45th International Film Festival of India, IFFI, 2014 to be held in Goa.

Paresh Mokashi directed ‘ELIZABETH EKADASHI’ was chosen as the Opening Film by the Feature Film Jury of Indian Panorama 2014 headed by renowned filmmaker Shri A.K.Bir. Shabnam Sukhdev directed 'THE LAST ADIEU' was chosen as the Opening Film by the Non-Feature Film Jury chaired by well-known filmmaker Shri Mike Pandey.

The Jury for Feature Films selected 26 films out of a total of 181 eligible entries, whereas 15 Non- Feature Films would be shown at the 45th International Film Festival of India 2014. The list of feature films include Marathi, Malayalam (seven each), Bengali (five), Hindi (two) and Assamese, Kannada, Khasi, Odiya & Tamil (one each). The Malayalam films include “1983”, “North 24 Kaatham”, “Njan Steve Lopez”, “Drishyam”, “Munnariyippu”, “Swapaanam” and “Njaan”. The Marathi films include ‘Ek Hazarachi Note’, ‘Elizabeth Ekadashi’, ‘Killa’, ‘Dr. Prakash Baba Amte - The Real Hero’, ‘Yellow’, ‘Lokmanya – Ek Yugpurush’ and ‘A Rainy Day’. The Bengali films include “Punashcha”, “Chotoder Chobi”, “Bodhon”, “Jodi Love Dile Na Praane” and “Teenkahon”.
