National award winning film Mukti Bhawan gets a standing ovation!
The film released commercially in the indian theatres recently and people haven’t stopped talking about it.
Mukti Bhawan won hearts all over the international film festivals and finally released in the Indian markets only on the 7th of April.
While the audience abroad appreciated it, it is the indian audience who is giving it, its heart and ‘soul’.
“The film was written with the Indian audience in mind. I had always been most curious about how they would take to it. While the film has been appreciated worldwide, the indian audience made me anxious,” Shubhashish Bhutiani had shared prior to the release of the film, but he sure must be grinning now with all love spilling over.
“People who are distant acquaintance are calling and telling us that the film really was loved by the audience around them. Not only from Mumbai, the calls are coming from people all over india. Which makes me really happy! How much money the film has made we are in no position to tell yet because it is too soon, but the really appreciation is having the audience give it a thumbs up. What I really loved is that while the critics have been praising the film, the audience has rated the film higher than the critics even,” beamed Sanjay Bhutiani, the father of the director and the producer of the film.
Mukti Bhawan is written and directed by Shubhashish Bhutiani and is produced by Sanjay Bhutiani, Sajida Sharma and Shubhashish Bhutiani under the banner Red Carpet Moving Pictures. The film features Adil Hussain, Lalit Behl, Geetanjali Kulkarni , Palomi Ghosh, Navnindra Behl & Anil K Rastogi.
