Los Angeles: Aaron Carter’s older brother Nick, who is a member of  vocal group Backstreet Boys, said he is heartbroken by the death of the singer.

In his Instagram post, Nick wrote: " My heart is broken. Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded."

"I have always held on to the hope that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed," he said.

"Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss, but the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here. I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know," he said.

"I love you Chizz. Now you can finally have the peace you could never find here on earth….I love you baby brother," the singer said.

Pop singer Aaron Carter died on Sunday.

He was 34.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department told CNN they responded to a call for help at Carter’s Lancaster, California home on Saturday morning around 11 a.m. local time, where a deceased person was found at the scene.

He was found dead in his bathtub, the source told the American news channel.

The cause of the death is still not known.
