Mumbai, Feb 5 (IBNS): Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan turned 39 years of age on Thursday.

The actor, who is on a high with the success of 'Happy New Year', said he likes to work on his birthdays and will shoot even on his special day this year.

"I like to work on my birthday, because I want to spend my day doing what I love, which is making movies and spending time with those who are with me all year round, taking care of me, tolerating me and being a huge source of happiness for me. Throughout my career, there have been very few birthdays on which I haven’t worked. I’ll be shooting with Umesh today. Also, Shamitabh (which he has co-produced) will release tomorrow (February 6), so everyone is consumed by that. Also, I love gifts, but I don’t expect them," Abhishek told Hindustan Times.

On his birthday, his father and superstar Amitabh Bachchan tweeted: "To those that send multiple greetings for Abhishek on his birthday .. thank you so much ..may your blessings remain with him always."

His friend and actor Riteish Deshmukh also wished the Abhishek with an emotional message saying: "At the start of my career, 1st person in the industry to tell me -'if you need anything am always there' @juniorbachchan Happy Birthday Bhau."

He tasted box-office success with his performances in 'Yuva' (2004), 'Dhoom' (2004), 'Bunty Aur Babli' (2005), 'Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna' (2006), 'Guru' (2007), 'Paa' (2009), 'Dostana' (2008), 'Sarkar' (2005), 'Bol Bachchan' (2012) and 'Dhoom 3' among others.
