Padmaavat touches Rs. 129 crore mark

Mumbai, Jan 30 (IBNS): Maintaining its momentum at the Box Office, Padmaavat has touched Rs. 129 crores so far since releasing on Thursday.

With Republic Day being celebrated on Friday, the movie opened to a long weekend.

Monday was the first working day and the movie continued its momentum.

" #Padmaavat passes the crucial ‘Monday test’... Maintains the momentum... Collects a SOLID figure… Wed [limited previews] 5 cr, Thu 19 cr, Fri 32 cr, Sat 27 cr, Sun 31 cr, Mon 15 cr. Total: ₹ 129 cr. India biz," film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted.

Apart from Shahid Kapoor, the movie features Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh.

The movie is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

The movie released amid opposition by fringe groups.

It was not screened in few states.
