Pune techie murder: Police arrest Bengaluru "friend"

Bengaluru, Dec 29 (IBNS): Police has arrested a man from Bengaluru in connection the murder case of Pune based 23-year-old software engineer Antara Das, media reports said.

Das was stabbed multiple times by her attacker on Saturday.

Santosh Kumar (25), who was the victim's former colleague and also a friend, was arrested late on Wednesday night,.

Earlier, the police detained him for questioning in connection with the case.

Investigators believe that Kumar had "very smartly planned the murder."

Antara Das, a Capgemini employee, was attacked just a few metres away from her office, said reports.

Eyewitnesses reportedly said that she was running on a road in Pune possibly to escape from her attacker.

She was taken to the nearby Dhanvanthri hospital by two people where she died.

According to reports, the eyewitnesses who came to her rescue also claim to have seen the attacker.
